Government paid health care programs

There are some cases in which health care is available to you through government sponsored programs. For example, if you were injured on the job, and have not health insurance to pay for medical bills, then there are government programs to pay for your medical expenses. Health coverage through workers compensation is just one of many different government sponsored programs.

The two main government provided health care systems are Medicare and Medicaid. Each one has a certain purpose that gives coverage to people that are unable to provide for themselves. Medicare was designed by the government to provide health services to the elderly and the disabled. Medicaid was designed with the intention to provide health services to disadvantaged people, military dependents, and lower income families.

In many communities, there are places that people can go to get free medical help. These places will do some medical work, but are unable to provide in-depth medical operations. These free health clinics are mainly run by donations, and by the income of hospitals connected with the clinic. They are usually unaffiliated with any insurance company, and government plans. The government does not sponsor these clinics for the most part, but if you are in need of health services and cannot afford health insurance, then you should visit a free clinic for any health problems.

There is still work being done by the government to provide every American with adequate health insurance, but there are some problems along the way. It is all brought down to politics, and whether the government should be responsible to care for everyone’s medical expenses. The problem is that the cost is so great, that it is near impossible for the government to pay for all of it.

Recently, the new elected president is in favor of government health care for every American. He is however taking a lot of criticism because there is no source of money to be used to sponsor this. In theory, the money would have to be taken from taxes, and would probably raise tax rates for everyone. It is not the best time with the economy taking its turn for the worse, and government money being used to bail out companies. The American debt has had a huge increase, and it is not looking good to spend more funding to run a government sponsored health care program.

There are so many unanswered questions such as, which Americans will get health care? The cost is far too great to give everyone benefits, so how will they select who receives it. Will the people not receiving government sponsored health care still pay tax dollars towards it? These are some of the hot topics that are being asked, and there are not real outlines to a future government run system. There is no telling whether or not government health care will even be possible, because there are so many things that have to be decided first.
